Mana Grocery

My friend tells me that you can grind your own peanuts to make peanut butter at Manna Grocery. It's an intriguing idea, even though I've found the transition from commercial peanut butter to natural a difficult one. It's funny, my menfolk have had little trouble making that particular transition. I'm the one who balks at it.

When I go to Manna grocery, I linger near the incense and the handmade soaps. I am drawn to the books they have for sale. I really want to buy myself another wind chime. All the same, the main product I go there for is coffee beans, when I'm not prepared to drive across town to Chloe's Cup. I buy gluten there for making homemade bread. It's also my favorite place to pick up a bottle of Annie's Organics Goddess salad dressing.

I could go so granola if I only had the cash available. I like knowing where my products come from, like the friendliness of the staff. I'm not prepared to pay $10 for a gallon of apple juice at this particular point in time, but I also do not doubt that the freshest product is worth the extra expense. It's been a long road for me to realize that life is expensive, a long road to realize that supporting local industry is worth a little extra expense. If nothing else, I recommend shopping Manna grocery for the atmosphere, besides which, the deli is fantastic. They used to have the greatest Thai Peanut Pasta Salad, though I admit to you that I have not shopped their deli in many years.
